Donating to the Bali Street Mums Project

Thank you for your kind and generous donations over the last month to aid the children and mothers at our Safe House in Denpasar, Bali. Your donations have made it possible for us to aid so many more children this month including these two very special girls.

Wayan 11 years old : Last week we found a little girl begging on the busy road of Kerobokan. She was disorientated, walking into the traffic, with her head down. She has an eye that is very damaged and blind. We brought her a cold drink and she told us that she begs with her older sister to support their father who is paralysed up in the mountains. She was hungry and had no shoes, her feet were covered in sores. She told us her eye was damaged by a knife 2 years ago. She said her family were poor and could not take her to the hospital.

Our social worker contacted Wayan’s family in the mountains to ask permission for us to take her to the hospital and the Safe house. We took Wayan to the eye hospital where she received eye drops and creams for instant relief. They told us the eye must be removed. We then contacted a Charitable Foundation that aids with eye surgery, They have committed to building a new eye for Wayan. We then took Wayan shopping for shoes and clothes and back to the Safe house for a good meal. The girls at the Safe house greeted Wayan with open arms and instantly took care of her.

We have taken food supplies to Wayan’s family in the mountains so that Wayan and her sister no longer have to beg on the streets to support them. We will continue to aid the family and take care of the girls. We will aid Wayan with her eye surgery and future.

Komang Ani 10 years old: This week we had a victory in rescuing Komang Ani from her abusive Step father. Komang Ani and her sister were sent to the streets by their step father to beg 10 hours a day, 7 days a week. When we met the little girls on the street, Komang told us that the stepfather hurt them. We went to the girls one room shack and met their Mother who asked us to take the little girls to the Safe house. She had a new baby with the stepfather and was frightened. We have had the girls under protection for the last 4 months and have worked with the Police to try and convict the stepfather. This has been a long and difficult process with a lot of therapy for the girls. The stepfather has finally been arrested and we are aiding their mother. She now can visit the girls in safety.

Thank you for your constant support and care for the children and mothers, Your donations have aided these girls and many more. We send you blessings from all of us at the Bali Street Mums and Kids Safe House. We hope that one day you can visit us.
